Well, now they've moved into their permanent location, a lovely 2 acre homestead 2 hours SW of us. What fun it was to walk about the place listening to my father's plans for bees, apple trees and garden boxes. Truly, it is a lovely place. I wish I had my camera back! *sigh*
Here comes the blessing part of this post. While we were there, my father GAVE Ryan his old laptop! Ryan promptly installed Ubuntu and it is working quite well as a netbook! Yippee! Thank you, dear Dad! We are so excited to have another computer. I did not know that our other computers were so outdated. This new one is more powerful than our best desktop and that's saying a lot because this laptop is no spring chicken!

Yipee! That is a blessing indeed.
ReplyDeleteThat is a true blessing. So glad you were blessed with that. And yes, in this day and age a computer that is a year old is ancient. :)

Congratulations Jenn, how neat to be blessed with such a thoughful dad and a techno son. We have never owened a laptop or a notebook yet -- I know, this is the 21st Century. My Jeff should be getting a laptop from work soon (so he can work from home in bad weather or ....) & I need to get on the ball and get our internet service speeded up, else all 4 of us just use the one computer at home. We have another old computer, but that is just basically used for Jeff's old games that are no longer compatable on the newer system, but the iPods do help a bit with computer congestion. :) Someday, maybe.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is awesome! Amy got her "new" camera the same way. It was a huge blessing!
ReplyDeleteAlison just bought herself a laptop. BestBuy doesn't have the greatest returns policy -- 14 days, and after that you have to deal with the mfg. So she was diligent to try out EVERYTHING, and she found the microphone port broken within the first few days... so that's where my family is now, exchanging it. Nice to have to drive 25 miles for that, lol. I should have her look at Ubuntu.
Oh what wonderful blessings! Neat to have your dad not too far away and it sounds like you might get some overflow blessings from his garden. And wow a computer! Enjoy you all. [o=
ReplyDeleteSwamped with harvest and I hope to be back more fully soon.
Blessings and ((HUGS)) my SSiC
