Please, Don't Criticize Others

Romans 14 1-12  ESV

Do Not Pass Judgment on One Another
1As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. 2 One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. 3Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. 4 Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand. 5 One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. 6The one who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord. The one who eats, eats in honor of the Lord, since he gives thanks to God, while the one who abstains, abstains in honor of the Lord and gives thanks to God. 7For none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. 8For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. 9For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.
10Why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God; 11for it is written,

"As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me,
and every tongue shall confess to God."
12So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.

This passage has been on my heart for a couple of weeks now.  It makes me sad when believers cannot live with one another in harmony.  Some believers celebrate Christmas as a way to honor the Lord, and this passage says that this is good.  It is equally good to abstain, if that is your conviction.  However, we are not to look down on one another, making the other feel bad or to feel superior.  Let's love one another, encourage one another, not make one another feel bad.  The bottom line is that we love the Lord.  He is Supreme!  Let's enjoy Him this season (as always) however that looks for your family.

Creation Museum

This past weekend, we had the pleasure and good fortune to visit The Creation Museum.
I have to say that I was impressed.  The cost was dear for us, however, we counted it a good use of our dollars, supporting a museum that is a Bible based ministry over one that is all about the religion of evolution.

The museum itself is well done.  The exhibits take visitors through the 7 C's of History:  Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, and Consummation.  We got to see a neat planetarium movie.  I have never felt so small!  I mean, this universe is unimaginably huge!!!  And so is our God.  And yet, He wants a relationship with us.  Blows me away.

I am thankful that we live only 2 hours from this awesome museum.  We have plans to return in the spring, after tax season.  We might even go camping near-by and make it a weekend.
