| Good weather means go to a park! |
Monday...
For a Monday after a camping trip, we didn't do too badly. Yes, we were tired. Yes, we did not do everything that could have been done, but we did what was important. Laundry was top priority, even over math, unfortunately. That's OK. We can skip a day and make it up at the end of the week. That is why I have a flex day each Friday. It's our built in catch up day and I love it!
The weather was rather rainy today, but the guys were able to chop some leaves after dinner. The leaves are almost all on the ground. It will be nice to have that big job done for the year.

Tuesday...
More rain today. I need to check our rain gauge. I noticed broccoli and green tomatoes in the garden that need to be collected. They are the last taste of summer.
We accomplished a lot more today. The camping laundry is done and put away. Lessons are going well. We are enjoying, George Washington's World and another historical fiction book, The Ravenmaster's Secret.
Jeff went in early so that he could get home early and take the kids to play disc golf while I was at my monthly bunco group. They got in 9 holes before more rain came. I hear they may have also stopped for milkshakes on the way home.

Wednesday...
Today is supposed to be sunny and warmer, in the upper 70's. It's almost a shame to spend it inside with books. We have the usual Wednesday things to keep us busy... lessons, chores, art class, and a playdate with friends all before AWANA.
As usual, AWANA wore me out, but the girls I get to work with are so nice, that it is all worth it.

Thursday...
This is the last day of Indian Summer. Tomorrow the rain and cold comes back. That's OK. It's time. We worked on the front yard after lunch today. The wind had undone the hard work of a couple days ago. The back yard will need our attention, too, but there is only so much the kids and I can do without the riding lawn mower's help. You see, neither Ryan, nor I can start it, so we have to wait for Jeff's strong arm to come home.
We have the windows open and a lovely breeze is coming inside. If I close my eyes, it seems like summer with a warm breeze, the hum of neighbor's mowing, and birds singing.
Tonight is our usual go get groceries while the kids are at karate, except, two children claim to be too tried to go. So, we are allowing them to stay at home as long as they do not turn on a screen. When we got home, they had brought out their very old math manipulative basket and were playing "math" games!
Friday...
It's raining. It's cold again. We have a couple subjects to do today and then we will do a super tidy of the house because Trevor and I have a family birthday party here on Sunday. Saturday we are going to a disc golf course at a state recreation area that is located an hour and a half north of here. There will not be time to tidy the house on Saturday. Hopefully with us gone on Saturday it won't get messed up!
So there's a look at another busy week! How is it that these days just fly by? I want to slow them down and savor them. I guess that is why I write.
Take care,
Jenn

Ist that just so funny of cats.. They will try and find the smallest piece of cloth to curl up on.. no matter how tiny it may be... Lancelot does the same thing..
ReplyDeleteI cant believe how tall your kids are getting.. and that park looks pretty fun too..
Come on Jenn, Did you be a kid again and go play crazy too.. ?
Yes, cats are creatures of comfort! That's one of the things I love so about them. I did throw the frisbee a little, but no, sadly, I did not go play crazy, too! I should have though. :-)
DeleteLovely pictures Jenn. Is that the same art place that Grace went to last year? Sounds like a productive week & some decent weather. Have a good weekend, it sounds like a full one. ttfn
ReplyDeleteYes, Jane. That is the same art class she went to last year. I am praying we can find a way to keep sending her!
DeleteSounds like a lovely week!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice week you had! One of my kids is sometimes 'too tired' for judo, so she's offered the option of 8PM bedtime or judo. When she chooses 8PM bedtime,we know she's not feeling good.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to hear how your grandma does plums!
Thank you for being such a faithful blog friend, Jenn.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry I haven't been by too often lately. I am really hoping to hibernate once winter hits.
Wasn't that warm weather lovely this week?!
I sure do wish it wasn't being chased by such a cold spell.
I hope you post more of Grace's artwork. Her creations are always so beautiful.
Blessing - and stay warm!
Michelle
Sounds like a great week. So glad you got so much done and had fun too. :)
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful week and yay for the rain! I am anxious for the rain to bless our dry earth over here.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your blog and photos. The last summer fruits eat ... and then comes the cold season. Here too, this morning I opened the window of the bedroom, I shivered. What a cold wind, what a rain ...
