Hard to believe another week of January has passed.
On Monday we were motivated to get our lessons done efficiently, as we had friends coming to play in the afternoon. ( Yay for homeschool friends who live .5 miles away!) But the joy of the afternoon turned to worry as Trevor started having pain in his back when he swallowed. No other symptoms, so we decided to keep a watch on him and go on with our busy life.

Abbey likes us most in the winter!
Tuesday, Trevor is not feeling well and is in more pain when he swallows. He lays around most of the day with his little furry friend. We have our lessons and our little preschool friend comes. This is the day that Ryan plays with her all afternoon. So sweet! (And thank you for the encouraging comments. I am grateful.)

A warm spot for Abbey.
Wednesday brings little change for Trevor. He is enjoying Wendy's Frostys though. We have a quiet day. Trevor and I stay home from AWANA.
Thursday brings a little snow and a big fall for me. I landed on my left knee when I hit a snow covered patch of ice at the park today. My leg is swollen, stiff and blue. Thankfully, I can get home and no bones are broken! It could be a lot worse. I manage to read aloud while in pain and then the kids watch our friend while I have my leg propped most of the afternoon. Trevor is a bit better, eating soft food, but I still make him an appointment for tomorrow.

A little snow comes our way.

Friday morning is Trevor's doctor appointment. It's bitterly cold this morning, in the single digits. This is the coldest it has been I think so far. My knee is slightly less painful so I think I can manage. We cancelled our small group meeting as freezing rain and ice is expected this evening. Grace has a sleep over at church tonight. Oh, and today is Jeff's birthday! So much has been going on that I keep forgetting! Happy birthday, Darling! I wish it could be more grand, but at least he had a cake last Sunday.

Happy Birthday to my best friend and darling husband!
Goodness! Praying for y'all. Stay safe and warm.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sharity. I hope your dinner tonight goes over well.
DeleteOh, what a mixed bag of a week! I'm glad Trevor is beginning to perk up, and so sorry that you fell and got hurt. (((HUGS))) Take it easy today and this weekend, and may next week be less eventful!!

Thank you,Shani! Enjoy your house hunting tomorrow!
DeleteSorry Trevor has been under the weather!! Also sorry for your fall!! Hope you all are on the mend fast! Hope you have a restful and uneventful weekend!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Chasity
Thank you, Chasity! I plan to keep my leg propped up as much as possible.
DeleteWhat a great picture of Grace! Oh, and wished Jeff a happy birthday prematurely, so now, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEFF! There. Wow, that sounds odd with Trevor, backache with trouble swallowing??? What did the Dr. say? And sorry to hear that you fell. You need some of those grippys you can put on your shoes. It looks like you have a tad more snow then we do, but yours will melt in a few days & ours might be here for a while now.
ReplyDeleteDoctor thinks he has acid reflux so we are going to treat it with a bland diet and generic Pepcid AC. I do need some grippys and need to concentrate on where I am walking!
DeleteHappy Birthday Jeff.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a fun, blessed weekend.
He says thank you!
Delete((hugs)) on the ice injury. How is your son now? Any news from the doctor? I'm still jealous of your snow but since we are all sick with head colds I guess it's better to just have cold temperatures than the temptation to want to play in the first snowfall.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tamara. Trevor is being treated for reflux. He's to have small frequent bland meals for a week. He is also going to take generic Pepcid AC. If that doesn't help, then he'll have an upper GI. I am glad our doctor takes the path of least resistance first. I hope you feel better soon and get some snow to enjoy!
DeleteJenn,
ReplyDeleteI hope that the doctor was of some help to Trevor. Poor boy. I hope your leg is better as well. Ice can be so dangerous. {{HUGS}}
Thank you!
DeleteHope you and Trevor both are on the mend. My dd has had to be on Pepcid AC on and off for a long time. She had to watch what she eats.
ReplyDeleteJealous of that snow! Can you believe it will be in the 60s here tomorrow?! I want winter!
I will gladly send you the snow! 60's sound heavenly.
DeleteWow, hope the dietary change and pepcid help him out, poor guy. Hope you knee heals quickly.
ReplyDeleteMe too, Melissa! So far he is doing better. And my knee will get better with rest. Unfortunately, I will have a lot of work to get back to my fitness level.
DeleteLove the pic of Grace and her daddy,.,.. that smile is priceless!.. Hope the kiddo gets well.. hope your leg heals nicely.. although I am sure the spoiled lovings coming your way are nice.. ha ha
ReplyDeleteI hope you both had a great weekend and feel much better now!
ReplyDeleteWe expect rain today! Imagine! After being so very, very cold. Our piles of snow will disappear a bit...and then we're expecting more.
I hope you can enjoy whatever weather God sends your way.
Hiya, Jenn,
ReplyDeleteI sincerely hope you are all having a better week this week! My goodness, that was not a happy few days. Is Trevor better? And how's your leg? I'm so glad it didn't get broken. Have you been able to keep up with school?
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. Yes, I thought of you when I posted the kitchen cart picture. :-) I LOVE it--it's like having another counter and cabinet all in one. I'm using two of the shelves to put my frequently-used pots and pans, thus eliminating the horrific din of me trying to get at one of them in the rather large stack in my cupboard. :-) Hope you can get yours soon!
Oh I am so sorry for all your challenges. (((HUGS))) I hope you two are on the mends now. Please update us when you can. I hope things are not serious. I have had nasty falls before and I am soooooooo thankful you were able to get home!
ReplyDeleteBlessings and ((HUGS)) my SSiC
-Mary
