Home Blessing (coined by flylday.net) is another term for taking care of your home. I choose to think of it as a way to bless my family, instead of drudgery, doing it all unto the Lord. I also believe that children need the gift of work, so we all pitch-in together.
Here is our schedule...still in the process of being developed.
Each day we strive to do the basics. We do more if company is coming. (It's just the way life is!)
Morning
- Make beds
- Tidy (swish & swipe) bathrooms after first use of the day
- Start laundry
- Empty dishwasher
- Plan dinner
- Trash and recyclables
- Litter box, food, and water for kitty
- Bird friends water changed in bird bath & more seeds put out
- Water our garden, in summer
Afternoon
- Clean up lunch
- Reboot laundry, fold, and put away
- Work on zone of the day (bedroom, bathrooms, kitchen...) Not more than 30 minutes of time.
Evening
- Clean up kitchen as we go
- Finish laundry (put away)
- Tame hot spots (clutter piles that pop up during the day)
- Pick up and put away
- Plan for next day
Each week we do an hour deep clean of the whole house. We strive to set aside a consistent time to clean each day, staying in one area until it is done.

So how does this get done?
Routine as of November 2011
Monday: subdue laundry and do normal daily chores
Tuesday: linens, laundry, bathrooms
Wednesday: entry way and kitchen

Thursday: groceries and take out trash
Friday: dust, vacuum, put away school books
